Mohando Kung Fu has now come to South Wales, in the Amman Valley.
Mohando (the unlimited way) is predominately based in the South of England,
under the leadership of Master Carl, 8th Degree Black Sash.
The Cwmgors club practices the Mohando short fist system, based on Pakmei
Freestyle (White Eyebrow). This system uses very close, fast blocks and
attacks, which are difficult to predict and subdue. Students who have
previously practiced Wing Chun will find certain similarities between
the two styles.
The Training syllabus consists of three main segments:
Techniques - Simultaneous block and attack and attack only techniques.
Forms - or Kata - fighting with imaginary opponents.
Padwork- and sparring with opponents in a safe controlled manner.
The Club is run with an emphasis on friendship and encouragement between
students and instructors. Fitness levels vary from person to person and
everyone learns according to their own ability. There are no difficult
high kicks to master and footwear such as trainers are worn during training.
We welcome interested persons come along to see what happens at the club
and, if interested, the first lesson is FREE. Just turn up in trainers,
t shirt and loose trousers or track suit bottoms, to help movement whilst
training.
